When can we expect 1080p?

Usually less than 24 hours.

I stopped waiting for 1080p, not much difference even on my Full HD 1080p 55″ TV and I get to watch One Piece earlier. ^^

lol there is much differences between 1080p and 720p! you will not notice unless you use big screen TV or laptop. I am watching my animes with 18’4 inch Alienware M18x. SO I CAN TELL all differences among 480, 720p, 1080p and Blu ray quality. So, please don’t say no difference between 720p and 1080p if u don’t know clearly, Just try buy or watch in big screen.

Since when is a 55 inch 1080p Full HD TV not big?

I’m still using my old 800×600 screen sometimes even watching shows in 640×480 LQ , saying ‘At least I can watch it.’ Lower your standards and stop arguing over stupid stuff like this ‘But this one pixel looks better on 1080p’. Damn.

Seeing as everyone is talking about TV’s, I’ll let you all know something, it doesn’t matter if a TV advertises itself as Full HD 1080p or how big it is. Those are minimal specs, you need to research many other things before you can compare quality, such as Refresh rates, his 55″ TV probably has crappy refresh rate therefore the quality will look the same.

I agree with Grimmjow and this is a point that I’ve always stressed; find what works best for you and stick with it. If 1080p looks no better for you then just ignore it. I have a 50” plasma and the difference between 720p and 1008p is noticeable. It’s not a huge difference, I’ll grant you that, but it is definitely noticeable.
Also, bear in mind that viewing distance, angle and the quality of your vision will also affect how you perceive the image. Refresh rate will certainly have an affect and motion can appear blurred with lower refresh rates.

Anyway, like I say, just pick the one that works best for your setup and stick with it, but don’t decry the other available options just because they don’t work for you.

@Hattori Thanks for agreeing, I used to own a TV that had a low refresh rate and everything looked pretty blurry on it. But ya, the points you brought up all affect how the content will appear, also changes to some settings on the TV and using an HDMI cable can cause noticeable changes

Hi guys, just few things for you to understand:

1. I never said or implied that there is “no difference” between One Piece 1080p and 720p. I said there isn’t “that much” difference, I have lot’s of actual 1080p Btu-Ray anime and movies to watch that actually is 1080p.

2. My TV is Samsung 55″ ES8000 3D Full HD 1080p HDTV which was one of the top models of 2012. My sis and I got it for USD 4.6K (It’s cheaper in US, but we don’t live there). It has 240Hz refresh rate.

3. I do see that the 1080p One Piece has more crispness than the 720p release, but not “enough” difference to make me stick with 1080p alone. If it’s not available when I need it, I’ll gladly go for 720p.

4. Sis and I are very good artists and have quite an eye for detail, so we do try to be lenient with a lot of things otherwise we’ll go crazy obsessing over lack of detail.

5. Not everyone who watches One Piece is a “he” – girls watch some shonen animes too~ ^-^’

Isn’t the 1080p just an upscale? So for people not stretching it to 1080p on their tvs or whatever, the 720p one will be of greater quality, but a smaller size?

I’m aware that KF uses MPEG transport streams for One Piece 1080p, correct me if I’m wrong. I believe it will be significantly better quality than TV broadcast as it’s not encoded for broadcast in it’s storage format. I think it’s not actual 1080p, but upscaleed from storage format. Hattori, could you confirm what’s what? What I said is purely assumption on my part. ^-^

Hey guys, great group you have here. Followed you for awhile and I will now get your releases from 579 on onwards since you became really good after Fishman Island and the filler arc. But there is one thing that annoyed me, and that was Panz Fry’s ‘guilty’ / ‘sin’ mask in the filler arc. Is it possible you guys could do a quick TL note on top of the screen next time so we know what the sign means instead of writing the word everytime above the Japanese sign? That would make it less work for you and less annoying for me. I almost felt like turning the subtitles off because it’s so distracting but then I wouldn’t have understood a thing. I’m really not looking to
